Application Procedures
Attention applicants:
The 2012 Scholarship Competition is now closed. Scholarship awardees will be notified soon.
Note: ALL applications have been automatically submitted. All saved applications will be considered, even if the applicant did not explicitely hit the 'submit' button.
- Applications must be completed online, including the uploading of all required documents (e.g., essays, supporting documents, etc.) by FRIDAY, May 4TH, 2012, 5:00P.M.
- To access the application website, log onto http://My.FIU.edu . Click on Self Service, and proceed to the Student Center tab. Under Academics you will see a link that reads ‘Scholarship Application’. Click on this link to enter the application center. Read the descriptions of the different scholarships. Click on scholarships for which you are eligible and for which you wish to apply. Note the minimum eligibility requirements for all scholarships, and any specific criteria for a particular scholarship.
- Type an essay (double-spaced, two-page maximum) about yourself that includes a discussion of your educational goals and how receipt of the scholarship will help you meet these goals. Attach the essay where indicated at the top of the application. Some scholarships require additional essays. Click on the button for each scholarship that requires an additional essay to attach your additional essay to that scholarship.
- Request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, teacher, or other professional. Tell them that they will receive an email link whereby they can submit their letter for you. Where indicated on the application form, provide their email address.
- Upload and attach any other required supporting documentation.
- DO NOT CLICK ON THE SUBMIT BUTTON until you are done with applying for ALL scholarships for which you wish to apply. Once you click the Submit button, you will not be able to make ANY more changes, or apply for ANY more scholarships. Use the SAVE button (lower left corner) instead to save a partially completed application packet. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
